Get Great Abs - "Truth About Abs" by Mike Geary - Review
The Truth About Abs is NOT just a routine to make your abs flat or turn them into a six pack. Contrary to the what most people might think about this from the title, it's actually a complete full body workout and nutrition plan!
You would think all you'll find here is a way to lose fat from your belly and probably do a bunch of crunches....but not so. It really is a complete program that takes the notion of spot reducing your belly fat to get abs and turns it upside down. The author takes a complete body approach using many compound movements and exercises to reduce fat from everywhere then shapes your muscles to give you a lean muscular look.
The whole program is based on some very sound concepts so don't look for gimmicks or tricks. You won't find any here! Exercises that focus on increasing strength and better muscle tone will burn fat at the same time. More than cardio, these exercises will even burn fat long after you're done working out!
I found the exercises to be easy to understand but there are pictures clearly showing you what to do which is good for beginners. They're simple and most everyone will be able to do them right away with little problem. Another good thing is that you don't need to buy an expensive gym membership to do the program. This can be done right at home.
As far as nutrition is concerned Mike has some great tips and advice. He puts a different twist on some things that you might never have heard before that goes well beyond your typical calorie counting, etc. His philosophy on diet will give you a new way to think about what you're putting in your body and how it relates to your physical outcome.
You will not starve on this nutrition plan but if you stick with it you'll have great results!
Overall, this is a great program not just for abs but for your whole body!
